Inadequate serviced infrastructure in industrial and agricultural parks
UIA to publish park readiness assessments
Agreed, but implementation has not begun.
Where this stands
To be published through the Doing Business Portal performance register.
Why this reform was agreed
Industrial and agricultural parks lack essential infrastructure including utilities, internal roads, ICT connectivity, cold-chain facilities, equipment centres and quality assurance laboratories. These gaps slow investor onboarding, limit value addition and reduce export competitiveness.
Ongoing and planned interventions
The Human Capital Development Programme under NDP IV prioritises water and sewerage infrastructure in industrial parks. The FY 2025/26 and FY 2026/27 budgets prioritise extending transmission lines and substations to industrial parks and growth centres.
