NSSF Employer Registration

Employers must register with the National Social Security Fund and remit monthly contributions of 15% of each employee's gross wage (5% employee, 10% employer). Since the NSSF (Amendment) Act 2022, this applies to all employers regardless of the number of employees.

Who needs it

Every employer in Uganda, irrespective of the number of employees, must register as a contributing employer and remit contributions for employees aged 16–55. (Previously only employers with five or more employees were compelled to register.) Excepted categories include certain government schemes (Police, Army, Prisons, civil/teaching service) and members exempted by the Ministry.
