Government works with recognised private sector umbrella bodies to coordinate the business community, channel feedback into policy, and deliver support services to members. Joining a recognised apex body gives an enterprise a voice in public–private dialogue and access to networks, training and market linkages.
Why it matters
These bodies aggregate the needs of members, run capacity-building programmes, and represent business in forums such as the Doing Business Forum, the Presidential Investors Round Table and national budget consultations. Sector associations are also the route through which most regulatory consultation reaches individual firms.
Associations recognised by MoFPED
128 associations, as published by the Ministry, in the Ministry's own order and spelling. The list spans apex bodies, sector associations, professional institutes and district-level farmer organisations, and a few associations appear more than once in the published record — the numbering is kept so those repeats read as what they are. Where an official website has been verified it is linked; most of these bodies do not maintain one.
